2024 at a glance

The excellent results for 2024 represent a healthy and dynamic SSA.

  • Rights collections amounted to CHF 29,514,355 (+6.16%).
  • The expenditure levels fell to 9.83% (-0.45 percentage points), which is historically the lowest rate, thanks to cost control and increased collections.
  • SSA, the CMO managing Common Tariff 14 concerning the new compulsory remuneration for video on demand, has seen a significant increase in collections; in August 2024, it made the first distribution of almost one million francs, to the benefit of the authors of 16,000 different works.
  • Television broadcasting rights have returned to stability.
  • SSA pays royalties to its members and sister organisations on a monthly basis. Payments increased by 11.93% to reach CHF 22.363 million.
  • In the 2024 financial year, CHF 1.492 million were allocated to the cultural fund and CHF 865k to the social funds.
  • 177 authors have been supported from the cultural fund.
  • SSA has taken a stand in numerous political consultations and continues to collaborate intensively with professional associations in the cultural sector, both nationally and internationally.
  • The challenges presented by artificial intelligence have been the source of numerous actions to ensure that human beings remain at the centre of the rights protecting artistic creation, and that human creation is respected and fairly remunerated.
  • Signed work registrations can now be sent to SSA in scanned form by e-mail, and a guarantee against the registration of products generated entirely by AI has been introduced on the form.
  • The organisational changes at SSA have been managed perfectly and the transitions have been successfully completed.
